This might be a bit of a bizarre question, but where/how did you get/create your sound effects for Revenge of the Sunfish, and how did you manage to make them sound so bitcrushed?
I always really loved the strange static-y beeps, screeches and screams that Revenge of the Sunfish had in it. I'm not sure if the low quality of the sounds were intentional or just a side effect of the game engine used, but they really fit the feel of the game, and I'd love to hear if there is a way to somehow recreate what you did with them.

That's quite easy to answer, I used the default sound recorder program on windows Xp for most of the sounds. To degrade the sound quality I pitch shifted the samples really high, and then shifted them down to normal. Some of the sound effects were also recorded by recording direct from the pc speaker with a microphone, which produces some really awful sound quality. The only major downside of using the windows default recorder is it saves really large sound files, so i recommend using another program like audacity to re-save them with some compression.

Fun Facts about the sounds: - One undiscovered feature, if you hit that Rhino head thing in that hitler heart mosquito room, you die, however you respawn making an "AAARRGGG" sound (it took me TWO fucking hours to make those rng mosquitoes to move so dont bother trying). - If you import the file to raw data, you find that the paperboy from suburbia actually says "Pizza delivery" in a pitch shifted country accent. - The toaster's full dialogue in the baby invasion is "I NEED TO... PROTECT THE INNOCENT" - One of the dialogue while fucking the keyboard is "press my enter key." When you press it, however, nothing happens. I figured it was a scrapped secret level idea. - Right click makes a farting noise while you melt the bug with the blue lasers in the easter egg. - Pressing control is not permitted in the rocket level (despite the flamethrower being fucking useless) you just get a "no shoot" message and a "PYYYSSSCCCHHOOO" sound.

usually audacity defaults to 44100 Hz which i think doesnt really matter. i think the most compression you could do without a lot of noise is at like 22100 Hz and probably 32kbps
