This program is less of a 'cool program' and more of an 'it exists' thing. Enter Bitsy Game Maker, by some Microsoft engineer in his spare time. It's basically the "I have literally zero plans of to do a video game, and want to twist in a digital world before midnight comes along." In short, the entire thing is composed wholly of scenes. What people tend to do is where literally moving around in a new room is a brand new scene. This results in the game becoming ridiculously cluttered. But hey, if you literally don't care about learning for more than 30 seconds, here's your tool of choice. Also he runs a monthly (?) game jam for this very toy thing. Bitsy - The Microsoft Songsmith of Game Engines.

I want to apologise for saying bad things about godot because I am now using it. It's actually pretty good for quick game making, even if it has some funny quirks, I think they are things you can get used to pretty quickly
however the fact that you can't make the sprite go to the size of the body automatically is an abomination
the system of node based composition of things seems alien at first, and I really struggled to see why it was good, but after using it a bit I have to say it allows you to develop reasonably complex things super quickly, and with a good level of flexibility since you can put those same nodes on any other thing and then use that same code on it and stuff like that

www.boscaceoil.net/The dude behind VVVVVV and Super Hexagon (among other games) made a tiny music noise maker thing. It also works pretty easily in a browser, and the interface reminds me of Org Maker.

Really like how you use 'scenes' to lump things together. Looking forward to version 3. There are some cool extra things on Github you should check out if you haven't already www.gamemaking.tools/wiki/index.php?title=Godot

interesting that they have a point and click game framework, I was just thinking today that you could probably make one easily in godot. Goddamn that
get_node("thing") method has to be the most concise thing I've ever seen, it's fantastic
