This is my favourite song of her, looks like she almost never sang this one on TV or live. I found only one incomplete footage of her performing this, she wore a bulky, futuristic shimmering silver dress and her signature topknot hairstyle. I think that video was on nico nico douga... Are you on jpopsuki? There might be more footage on there. Probs not more than niconico though I guess. Wikipedia says she performed it during her 1983 tour 'Milky Way'. That outfit sounds rad. The clothes are one of my favourite things about that era of J-Pop. I think my fave song of hers is action this one, and particularly I really like this performance www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRPNR6RqWKc

Turns out the video is still there: www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm20389644 (only the first 50 seconds, the rest is Shoujo A). And I remembered the hair wrong, it's not a topknot, but a very high ponytail! One way or another, my heart skips a beat... I don't have the invite to jpopsuki, even though I considered obtaining it at some point. They might have something, but I also think the chances are very slim. Typically I use Rutracker, eMule, video hosting sites and music "blogs" like jpop80ss to get retro jpop stuff, and I spent a lot of time searching through all these places in hopes of finding at least the full version of this video, but yeah, looks like I'm out of luck with this one... Ginga Densetsu was also featured on this DVD, but only as a background track. I like practically everything about 80s jpop - the music feels so... natural. So many talented artists. Honest emotional delivery and pristine vocals. And visually it was amazing too, I agree - I like both the daring experiments with the outfits and stage decoration, and the general fashion of that time (especially sweater+long skirt like here, the song starts at 2:54 www.invidious.tube/watch?v=tegcbcxFnbE ). Oh yes, I also love that "Kazari ja nai..." song! I generally prefer her early albums, but I think this might be my favourite one from her post-nanpasen repertoire. Speaking of that period, Akina changed so much after her mother died... Must've been through a lot. AKINA EAST LIVE is my favourite concert by the way, I really recommend watching it. P2P nets have the full rip in very good quality.

Oh cool, I'll check those things out. I can give you a jpopsuki invite if you want, but from searching I don't see a better version of that clip

Wow, thanks for the offer, I'd appreciate the invite regardless! You can PM me for the details! It's always nice to meet a fellow retro jpop fan

Check out this new song/clip for Claudio Simonetti's Goblin. Incase your not a rabid horror movie type, Claudio collaborated with Dario Argento on the film scores for classic spaghetti horror movies like Susperia, Tenebrae and Phenomena (Creepers in the US). Hehe also If you look under the credits, I got a mention for helping out paint stuff for the clay-mation part (Jakub Buczynski), they did spell my name wrong, oh well.. Oops!

I remember the Goblin band from Suspiria! It's unbelievably cool to see your name in the credits! The cultists claymation is very entertaining and creepy, I just love those faces, they are straight outta hell, I presume...
