Maybe the executable just got infected by some virus, externally. Some malware programs can do that.

odd. I personally wouldnt worry about it right now. i scanned it and then my whole computer and it seems to be fine, no lagging, skipping, or malware or anything I like this program a lot so i would be upset to hear that its actually infected

I meant to say that the executable itself is most probably clean when you download it, just perhaps in nl's case some malware program already present on his computer inserted a piece of malicious code in it, hence the slowdown he experienced. It happens sometimes.
I'm sure the program is okay, just scanned with Malwarebytes - no viruses found.

Ohh i understand! i didnt realize that nl's post was personal, not referring to the original download itself. my bad haha i personally have never had malware inject other files. Though i havent had much malware to begin with - the last time my computer got a virus it wiped my entire hard drive including my OS

Malware, really? I'll look into that. I do know it works wrongly on some operating systems. I had plans for some other more sophisticated animation software, but I didn't get around to writing it yet. Ahh infact I can't remember where I left the notes, but I did come up with a very good idea for a better animation program.. It was related to my nano-animation software,, ah yes I remember I was going to implement a special kind of procedural tablet support.

Yeah viruses can be super scary. There were some in the past that could destroy BIOS! Just search for CIH or "Chernobyl" virus... Malware Wiki has a good article about it: malware.wikia.org/wiki/CIH There are some good videos too. There was also Arctic Bomb, which could destroy all the data on a system disk, just like in your case (sounds terrible - sorry to hear that...). Some viruses can even pretend to be anti-viruses! I had one such thing in the past, it was called "System Security" and was downloaded via backdoored Windows Update Viruses that could infect other files were more common in the 90s and 2000s, nowadays it's mostly ransomware like Petya or WannaCry. 90% of malware comes through Javascript, so I really recommend using addons like NoScript or uMatrix when you browse the web (Adblock is not enough to counter this). EXEs downloaded via eMule can be dangerous too if they aren't marked as trusted!

I see. well if you do find those notes, or can remember them and write them down again, you should tell us about it Mad works fine on my system, windows 7, but i think just about everything runs fine on windows 7, lol. it being totally forced fullscreen is a bit jarring, but i guess that it leaves you with no distractions from drawing/animating, haha

I also have Windows 7, MAD works fine for me. I don't think there are viruses in it.
Some of the older games, like ROTSF, may be laggy until you set compatibility with Windows 98 or something similar. Also sometimes antiviruses don't like the CNCS32 and CNCS232 dlls present in these games' folders. Not sure what's causing this, I think these are simply harmless KNP/TGF dlls with resources needed to run the games. Some games actually work if you remove these files, but others will refuse to launch. Regardless, I think it's a false positive if antimalware program reports files like these.

I remember frequently encountering a glitch in RotSF where youd have to press a button for frames to actually progress. Its kinda hard to explain. I think that its actually just a bug with multimedia fusion 2 (assuming thats what was used to make RotSF, i believe it was) since i encounter similar bugs in a lot of mmf2 games.

Yes, I also had this bug. Compatibility mode fixed this - only I can't remember the right setting, it was either Win 98 or Win 95. I suggest trying these, it should solve the problem.

Yeah I know that bug, it's to do with a sound compatibility screw up. I was working on a patch, but then I couldn't release that without sprucing up the game, and adding some new levels and stuff, but then I was thinking, ahh but who cares anyway, like it's an old game, I might as well just work on my new games I thought, so then I never completed the patch, but it is basically done. I could finish it, but that would require me switching projects again, and right now im working on something else.

I tried this program. Cool and rather unusual (out of habit I pressed Ctrl + z). There were problems with the creation, I had to look for a site.

Cool animation DoctorCrow! I like it! Only just saw it, hence why I'm commenting now. You press ctrl+spacebar to save a frame and ctrl to show the color selection.
