but what is ultimate? i guess it depends on what a person really values. you sacrifice some possibilities in order to fulfill other potentials. Most positives have a real downside as well. A friend of mine was telling me about this autistic guy who used to design sparking guitars for popular rock bands, apparently he had a very good knowledge of electrical design, but he was also quite socially dysfunctional. Later in life he got alot more social, but then he could no longer read his own electrical notes. While some people argue that neuro-plasticity benefits from as much stimulating brain activity as possible, I think there is an element of truth in the autistic guitar man parable. I think alot of mainstream culture is focused around actually limiting the potential of the individual.
