We found an old coin in our garden today - nothing special in itself really, since there's still quite a lot of them lying around from the USSR era, I think the oldest we found was dated 1936. But this time the treasure turned out to be really special.
I took a close look, and realized it didn't resemble any Soviet coin at all. The coin itself was in pretty decent condition, you can discern almost all the lettering and ornaments on it (though I wasn't able to do so at a first glance, it was covered in dirt). My first guess was that maybe it's some sort of plaque or a button from some kind of fancy jeans, but no. It was definitely a coin. And it was actually scarcely decorated. The year was clearly visible - 1983. You could also barely see something that looked like two big rings on one side.
After more inspection, I was able to read the word SVERIGE on a side with the nominal (which read 10 ore). So thanks to the internet, now I know that Sverige means Sweden in their language, and 10 ore is a pretty small amount, 1/10 of krona, plus the coin is no longer in circulation since 1991.
Here is what it looks like (1980 version, otherwise identical to what I found):

WTF it was doing in my garden?? I have no connections with Sweden, and neither did anyone related to me in the past... I did find some foreign coins before, a penny I think. It was in a pocket of a second-hand windbreaker. But then, that coin was fairly new, and obviously it belonged to previous owner. I've never seen a coin that is foreign and old. And literally a few steps away from my house. It's still a mystery how it got here.
