Being John Malkovich
dont remember a single fucking thing from the movie, just utter nonsense
Halloween
woah is something there? oh theres nothing. oh theres a guy now DUM DUM DUM DUMUMUMUMUM DUM DUUUM repeat 70 times and you have movie at least texas chainsaw had enough grit and dirt to look cool sometimes
The Blair Witch Project
the most boring fucking movie ive ever seen, its all hype and no substance, like watching your classmate's shitty art project and then the whole class loves it and you dont get why
Spirited Away
all visuals, no substance, the two main characters talk like once during the whole movie and somehow they are supposed to be in love, main character is also an annoying brat, again just random nonsense for the whole time
Blade Runner
fucking boring once again, the whole movie acts like you should care about whats going on but you have no reason to
that is my general problem with some movies, if you want me to care about what is going on, you have to give me a reason, you cant just have characters and tell me to care about them or have fucking annoying people in your main role.

the new alien movie, although i've only watched the trailer, looks as bad as promotheus. terminator 5 felt like a fan-fiction student film for a highschool class
robocop 2014 (the remake) was also like some bad fan-fiction where they through all the good things from the original out the window

What was wrong with being John malcovich? I liked that move, not so much the ending but I do like it. For anyone who hasn't seen it, Its about a puppeteer who finds a portal into john malcovichs head (as in the actor) that let's people control malcovich, then he starts charging people for entry into the portal but it ruins his relationship with his girlfriend who becomes a lesbian. What's bad about that concept? I'll tell you a shit movie, the greasy strangler. Its a newish independent movie and it tries to be like a funny John waters trash movie, except its shit. Even the Tim and Eric movie is better and that's pretty damn bad. You need to be stoned to watch it Anyway with th GS, The dialogue is repetitive poorly written and dumb. I'll tell you what it lacks, integrity. I did some digging on the director and it turns out that his back ground is doing advertising, and that pretty much sums it up. Some slick, square, mainstream prick can't make trash/cult movies because they don't understand trash, and they don't embrace dangerous or new ideas. That's what I hated about the film, itit markets itself as being deviant, or c c crazy! But then if you analyse the film its really not pushing any boundaries, but worse it just reinforces the norm and reingirces mainstream beliefs. It doesn't ask any questions and the ad like stylalusation leaves little room for interpretation. I saw this movie at last years trash o rama (in Melbourne) and they made a big deal about it because it was feature length, but it was worse than all the short films (which were great) after seeing it I wished I haven't got a ticket. I felt intense apathy and enui after watching it. I was seriously considering glassing the directed (who was there) but I opted not too cos I decided no one would get my motives and they probably wouldn't want me back for this year. Anyway where was i, yeah so if you see the film you may disagree with me (I recommend avoiding it) but badically I feel that the film is a betrayal of trash and an imposter as such which is why I hate it. I don't push any boundaries. The most edgy it gets is fart jokes. Seriously.

@speedos I liked spirited away but I only watched it when I was a kid and like 6 years ago. here's another unpopular opinion about an anime movie: I thought 5cm/second was garbage and boring i watched it when i was like 11 and still didnt care

OK in retrospect, my film review of the greasy strangler was a bit convoluted, I don't hate the film because of who the director is, or the fact that he worked in advertising. No my problem is with the film itself. The film is smug, cynical and conceited whilst under the pretense of not taking itself too seriouly, which is also a conceit because it feels super self conscious. The plot goes something like this: a geriatric father and his middleaged son live together in a dysfunctional, co-dependant relationship where the father emotionaly abuses his son. Also the father is a serial killer, but that's only a side note because no one can catch him. Anyway the father starts a relationship with some woman but eventually she starts having a relationship with the son. This creates friction between the father and son, but in the end they both just murder and canabalise her, and then they run naked through the woods together. Its implied that this brings them closer together. I think the resounding tone of the film is a strong mysoginist one. Maybe I would feel differently towards it if there was some pathos shown for the woman or if it just posed some questions to the viewer, but there's none of that its just all vomied out onto you the same way advertising is, worse they actually expect people to laugh at this. They should just have a video clip of someone punching a woman in the face for an hour with a laugh track dubbed over. I felt like the film was insulting to my intelligence (the whole film treats the viewer like a fucking moron, I guess that's who it's aimed at) so yeah not what I would expect from a so called "underground film".. Also I mentioned Tim and Eric, it feels like it rips them off a fair bit too.

The way I read that scene was that inside his head its full of his own ego because he's such a narcissist like many actors, so all he thinks about is himself. I thought it was a metaphor for that. But you don't have like it man, its just a matter of taste I guess. If you want to see something that will probably make zero sense to you, try watching senectoce new York. Its by the same director as being John malcovoch but that take it to the next level. That film is so dense and complicated, its crazy. You'd probably hate it

Oh boy, all I remember about Gravity was - Nonstop marketing/advertising comparisons to Interstellar in how 'ultra real' the research, and the 'crazy adventure' the movie would hold.
- The movie being a vehicle dedicated around 85% to "Sandra Bullock yelling in space while George Clooney disapprovingly frowns in the distance" and then comes to her rescue multiple times. There's an asteroid but who cares let's cut to more of Sandra Bullock screaming. Also, millions of dollars into wasted special effects/CG. I remember wishing that I was playing Kerbal Space Program and crashing spaceships instead.

aw yeah @jeb n HarneyBarnes Gravity was fucking horrendous laughed my ass of at the scene where the main character barks for like five minutes if anyone wants to do so check it out, make sure to read the comments hahaha www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1GKeNqzBUUThe Martian was even worse, it wasnt even funny i think those two movies were really only liked by complete idiots who just like things cause theyre popular might aswell mention some "classics" I consider boring: The Godfather Citizen Kane Blade Runner anything by Hitchcock all the Lord of the Rings movies Empire Strikes Back (i like the rest of the original trilogy though) Se7en (the ending is pretty funny though) The Sixth Sense I might aswell throw out that I dont think I ever enjoyed an acted show that wasnt a sitcom. Animated shows are just generally much more interesting. Oh yeah, Breaking Bad is fucking garbage. I do enjoy classic animation disney and "pre-wall e pixar" movies though. Dunno, I just have good memories with them since I watched most as a kid and I just generally like fairy tales/folk tales a LOT. Treasure Planet is probably my favorite disney movie though. Fuck the companies and their modern shit though.

Not really a movie guy, but I saw part of this one movie, Escape From Tomorrow that I did not like at all. It could have been way more creative and interesting than it actually turned out to be. I only recently got into classic trilogies. Theres some movies that I dislike. Home on the range Over the hedge Open season That ugly finding nemo casher I forgot the name Theres also some movie sequals like ice age 3 & shrek 3.

saw some movie called american made the other day and it was pretty shit. It seemed to incorporate nearly every textbook plot idea in history, and simultaneously had nearly no plot. They also showed this drug smuggler man's family become more and more annoying as he got richer, but it didn't seem to be intentional, and never really went anywhere, which just kinda alienated me since there seemed to be no point whatsoever to what was happening onscreen.
