oh my, that would appear to confirm my suspicions.
I’m always disappointed by how parochial the mind-set of these new subculture people are. They’ve unwittingly integrated the old conservative beliefs and their own creed has been so watered down that they offer no real challenge to the prevailing attitude, nothing more than another, compartmentalised, consumerist trend. I mean take retribution for example, like the kind of glamorised retribution depicted in movies like saw. That is a really shallow view of human nature, deeply flawed and also deeply ignorant position to endorse.
So many people, who think they're being “different” buy into this notion, and it’s just sad. even the movie the crow" endorses this view, which is one of the reasons why I hate that move (other than that it’s just not a very good move anyway) The subculture people should be rallying against the system against the elite, and against authority, but instead their playing right into the hands of the rich and powerful, picking foibles with “bad” guys and being filled with all sorts of self righteous indignation at being “different”, that difference existing on a purely superficial level, ie visualy. It's all so personal and eveythings so black and white to them.

they aren't super unpopular or hidden gems or anything but i like playing outdated meme unity games from time to time. they're obscure in a sense that, although they had a group of fans on release, literally no one plays them anymore. i do occasional replays of shadow of shrek, it reminds me of when poorly made games had charm

sometimes I used watch the ASDFS let's plays of unity horror games/mods. they were actually a good channel and i think it was funny watching them goof around in trashy horror fan games, mostly Gmod mods actually
do you have a download for shadow of shrek? i dont want to do the research

I believe it referenced a bizzarro video and also LSD Dream Emulator which is cool one thing that will really stick with me is the ending theme to the game. i believe some weird video used this song in it?

I was put-off by the article when i saw it, so i didn't give any of the games much of a look tbh.
Like famous indie person who takes part in shitty industry shit like e3 is not someone who's opinion about art i give a fuck about.
I mean she's not wrong about dickhead youtubers playing everything for lols has an effect. But like no shit + that's outta your hands.
Just ignore the shitty industry. Feels like some typical wannabe indie shit. No fuckin punk guts in this scene.

isn't the nature of being experimental kind of to embrace the fact that most people may not like what you make. i learnt this with Hernhand and the fact that youtubers disliked it makes complete sense, i understand why anyone would dislike it. at first it may have been rough to see people bash it in a video but now i just try to distance myself and observe the reaction without trying to defend it, why defend and say why someone should like the thing you made
