i dont check this forum too frequently, just found out there was a wave of spammers a few days ago but seems like all their posts are deleted.... and now macabres a moderator, woah :0 curious as to what happened

Hello. In a few words, we returned these forums more or less to the state they were in the very beginning. Jinxtengu, beanstalk and I decided that we couldn't go on tolerating all sorts of mindless hostility, spam in all the threads and general degradation of the forum community and structure.

I was given a certain degree of authority, and having intentions to bring the forums back to life, decided to clean the threads and write the new forum rules, which I encourage you to read, because they include a few very important changes compared to our old code of conduct. After reading them, you will probably have a clearer picture of nature of these changes.

If anything will be still unclear to you, feel free to ask. I am moving this thread to general discussion since it is quite serious and doesn't belong in the Spam Pit.

Thanks a bunch for the heads up, I've read through the rules. When posting I wasn't quite sure if it was appropriate for general discussions so I'd put it in spam pit just in case.

Very reasonable changes, I remember the spam and general wankery being pretty disruptive sometimes, which could get a bit frustrating.  (though most of my posts are similar grades of shit lol)

I'm seeing some deleted users & threads, I assume people have gotten banned?

Either way, I think it's a good move. Here's to a more fruitful future of the forums

No problem, I'm glad that you understand and welcome the changes. We hope to get more new users, but old-timers like you are also very important for us! Unfortunately, it's true that quite a few old users were banned from these forums. There are several reasons behind this, but in short it's either because they were posting too much degenerate content and would never agree with these changes, unlike you, or had a very unpleasant history of offensive posts that Jinx overlooked at first due to being busy with some other things (and not because he silently approved such behaviour). When I pointed his attention to some of the posts speedos and other users made, he agreed with me that Sunfish forums had a big problem.

Take a look at the forum smilies, and one particular thread in the horror section, that's how the decisions were made basically


We had (and still seem to have) a very serious problem with Dany Burton, who as you might know, was responsible for spamming the forums under the nickname "trapdoor" until very recently. He is still attemepting to access and attack this site, with the intentions to continue his destructive action. He is the source of these waves of spam you noticed. We tried to reason with him, but he let us know it's impossible, so we all agree that he doesn't belong here anymore.

Other users who were banned include people who supported the past and present actions of dany and speedos (and accounts with zero posts and absolutely no or very little activity after registration, as indicated by the rules).

I feel confident that things will now progress into more productive territory.
